Pelton turbines are impulse-type turbines combining radial and axial flow. Lester Pelton developed this type of turbine in 1849. The first hydropower Pelton turbine was installed in the Mayflower Mine in Nevada City, California, in 1878. Pelton turbines are used with medium to high heads, with low to medium flow rates.
Considering a hydropower project that involves Pelton units? Single, or double runners? Single, or multiple nozzles? Norcan can help. Our Pelton designed solutions will increase the power and reliability of any hydropower station.
